Ranger station at Caddo: 903-378-2103 (is NOT answered 24 hours)
Ranger headquarters of Caddo & LBJ: 940-627-5475
Pull Time from Greenville: 1 hour, 15 mins.
Option 1:
From Greenville, take Hwy 34 North.
Take a right at the corner of the town square, which is Hwy 69 & Hwy 34 combined.
Go Right at the Y in the road at a stop light. Hwy 34 & Hwy 224 combined.
Take a left at the next Y in the road at the stop light; which is Hwy 34, going toward Wolfe City.
Stay on Hwy 34 through Wolfe City.
At Ladonia, turn left on Hwy 50.
When you reach Honey Grove, turn left on TX-56 (also marked as Hwy 82).
Turn right on FM 1396. Go 11.2 miles.
Turn right on FM 2029.
Turn right on FM 409 and go approx 2 miles. You’ll see a brown sign that says Bois d'Arc Trailhead. Entrance is on the right side of the road, with a cattle guard crossing.
Option 2:
From Greenville, take I30 East and exit at Hwy 50 in Campbell.
Stay on Hwy 50 and continue north through Commerce.
Approximately 2 miles out of Commerce, turn left; you’ll still be on Hwy 50. You’ll be going towards Ladonia.
When you get to Ladonia, you can go through Honey Grove or follow the direction in Option 1 that approach the camp from the west side. The route from the west avoids 2 switchback turns around a cemetery and is much easier.
Through Honey Grove: stay on Hwy 50 through two turns that do not have stop signs, but are intersections. As you first enter Ladonia, Hwy 50 turns to the left. There is not a stop sign. Then you'll come to the downtown square area. There is not a stop sign, but turn right (follow the signs for Hwy 50). At the stop sign turn right; this is the intersection with Hwy 34N. You’ll be heading toward Honey Grove on Hwy 34.
When you reach Honey Grove you’ll come to a 2 way blinking red light at Junction 56 (caution: the red light is NOT a 4 way stop - - only a two way). Turn right at Junction 56 and continue to Junction 100. At Junction 100 turn left, and follow FM 100 north. There are 2 switchbacks just out of Honey Grove by the cemetery. You’ll pass under Hwy 82 (large 4 lane highway), and the next turn is about 15 miles.
You’ll be close to the turn when you go through a little town called Sash.
Turn left at FM 409.
At the intersection of FM 409, there is a brown sign on the right that says “Lake Crockett” and Coffee Mill Lake”.
Go 5 miles to the Bois d'Arc Trailhead (there is a sign). Entrance is on the left side of the road, with a cattle guard crossing.
This route is 58 miles, but you need to allow 1 hour and 15 minutes from Greenville due to lots of turns.
